THE GOAL
The goal of this project is to elect the names of distinguished Oromo personalities or the PIONEERS to establish ONA’s AWARD by the names of Oromians who have dedicated their lives to re build the Oromo nation and its history
OBJECTIVE
The objective of nominating distinguished Oromo pioneers is to recognized the achievement of Oromo figures who have brought a significant change by promoting the idea of National Liberation, in nurturing Oromo history Orally or in writing.
MISSION
To restore OROMUMMAA, by recognizing Oromo past and Present by defining, recognizing and to by distinguishing the accomplishments and the philosophical and the creativity of the Oromo people of pre_ Christian and pre-colonial Oromian civilization in which they invented government systems such as the GADA and their own religion such as the WAAQEFATAA
OUR STRATEGY
To accomplish the Goal, the mission and the objectives mentioned above;
a) We will give ONA AWARDS under the names of these recognized Oromian National figures.
b) we will create a new culture and thinking environment in which our distinguished pioneers will be recognized
c) we will work with Oromian political organizations and institutions to promote and build the culture of recognizing those who have worked hard to liberate the Oromo nation from the yoke of Abyssinian colonization
d) We will work with Oromo writers, publishers and media experts to promote the idea of recognizing Oromo nationals and friends who have spent tremendous amount of time, energy and who gave up on their lives.
e) We will publish the history and pictures of Oromo National figures, philosophers, scientist, artists and sport heroes
f) We will continue working with ONA members and none members to not to leave behind any Oromo who have paid his or her dues towards Nation building effort
g) Increase the financial capacity of ONA to be able to pay REWARDS to those who effectively participate in researching the history of Oromians and Oromia
EVALUATION
To recognize an Oromo as a national figure we will develop a criteria of performance, creativity and the degree of involvement of an individual in the process of National Liberation movement, culture building etc.
a) We will develop a criteria of evaluating by assessing the leadership qualities, achievements, personalities, farsightedness, devotion and dedication etc.
b) We will develop an information and reporting system that is needed to drive the implementation of the evaluation task.
c) Create “ FITS” between the way things are perceived and the actual reality in which things were done
d) Create a review system which evaluates our evaluating criteria following the changing political and shifting human psychology.
